The
company - ECP, employed Rod Wade to write and produce
the publication, "Sustainable
Water from Rain Harvesting" for the
benefit of the community and in the interest of conservation
of our planet's natural resources.
ECP provides a service to the community by way of advice
and information on the water catchment, storage, distribution
and disposal - Rain Harvesting.
It is important when providing information and advice
to the community that all best endeavours are made to
ensure that the advice given is correct, precise, and
informative and to the highest standard possible.
ECP feels that they have achieved these objectives by
engaging Rod to produce the publication.
Rod began his plumbing career in the late 50's and today
he is still engaged in the industry as well as in research
and development of all aspects of catchment, storage,
distribution and disposal of water - Rain Harvesting.
His research work has taken him to many cities and towns
in Australia and overseas and for the past ten years
he has studied vectors and vector control. In past years
Rod and his technical assistant Nola have visited and
carried out studies in China, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore,
Hong Kong, New Zealand and the United States of America,
but in today's modern age of technology Rod's research
takes him to every nook and cranny throughout the world
by computer.
Study tours in 2005 and beyond are planned for The Americas,
Europe, United Kingdom, China and Pacific Islands.
Rod was a presenter at the International Federation
of Landscape Architects - IFLA -World Congress in Singapore
in 2001 and at the IWA World Congress in Australia in
2002.
Rod's work is always received with great interest and
he is engaged by various governments and departments
to peer review drafts of Standards, guidelines and By-laws.
Rod has given people from all over the world assistance
and advice on sustainable systems.
The products designed by Rod are used for the catchment
and storage of water for Sustainable Houses & Eco
Village Developments around the globe.
The Sydney University of Technology has monitored the
system and water quality over extended periods of time
and the results are astoundingly good in relation to
water quality. Initial testing showed the 'complete'
system produced zero coliforms over an eleven month
test period.
Singapore's 'Sustainable House' by Ecogen, has been
developed using Rod's system and products and is open
to the public.
ECP and Rod are available to receive your building plans
and drawings so as to assist you in planning safe, cost
effective, rain harvesting water catchment, storage
& disposal systems that require minimal maintenance.
ECP and Rod's work are recognised in many overseas countries
as being experts in Rain Harvesting.
Rod receives numerous requests to present papers at
conferences around the world. His knowledge and expertise
is far greater than what has been shown in the publication.
Rod has designed and patented over 70 Rain Harvesting
products.
Completed projects included Private Hospitals, Retirement
Villages and a premier Eco Island Resort.
Our work would not be possible without the cooperation
of a lot of people and government departments and ECP
and Rod thanks them for their input and time, especially
all the staff and research personnel.
